Does what it's intended to do. Hose is nice. Gauge is pointless.

This refill hose works good and it has a shut-off valve built in which is convenient. The gas gauge is like all propane gauges - pretty much useless. It will tell you there's gas in the tank or not. But it's part of the shut-off valve which I really like. It's definitely cheaper to refill if your cylinder is in tip-top shape ($5 for a 1-pound vs. about $1/pound for bulk). Safety is an issue, so have a good understanding of what you're doing and how to do it correctly. Make sure your tank and small cylinder are in good shape. Otherwise , if you have appliances that need a 1-pound cylinder, this refill hose can save you some money. Just be careful!

This propane refill adapter is a big improvement over the single brass fitting I used before. The 3-foot hose and pressure gauge make the process much easier and safer. While it is technically possible to refill a propane bottle from a larger tank using only an adapter, that ends up being really clunky, especially if you are tipping your 20 lb tank upside down, which you should. With this adapter, you not only get a great fill indicator, but an easy way to turn your tank upside down and refill the bottle. I also like quarter turn ball valves rather than needle valves as they make the process of starting and stopping gas flow much easier. For an item with a 3-ft hose, this is one of the best values at the time of writing a review. I would compare prices and fittings, and ensure you're getting a product that works best for your refill setup, but this is a good option to consider.

High quality set

This set is heavy duty and everything is made of quality materials. Connections fit well, and it even includes some teflon tape and a cap-off cap as and added bonus. The storage pouch is super handy also. I like having the rubber lead to reduce spark likelihood, as well as make it easier to operate so you're not trying to work under a 20lb tank. Takes a little bit to get the trick to getting a full mini tank, but this is easy to use and well worth it. Pays for itself before too long.
